Cécile Kaiflyn is a Swiss artist who experiments 2D movement using different materials. She questions and analyzes the concept of time in our society where everything goes fast and where people, even artists, tend to be replaced by machines. Cécile goes back in a process of deceleration to experiment with new ways of capturing movement and immobilizing it in order to better contemplate it.
Mainly inspired by the current of lyrical abstraction as well as by the philosophy of Chinese art, Cécile shares their need to capture the creative impulse of the gesture to return to the meditative process of creation.
Today, although with technology we can constantly modify and retouch the images in order to obtain a perfect result, Cécile prefers to return to the gesture, the spontaneity, the errors and the imperfections which give her authenticity and singularity to the work.
